Monarch Butterfly Way Station

Along the inlet and inside the North Beach gate, improvements were made to the entry channel into Loch Lomond and to the existing rain garden. An additional grant, spearheaded by Micki Emde, was received for this project. Some of the grant monies were used to introduce a certified Monarch way station. These way stations provide Monarch butterflies food and shelter along migratory patterns. Again Loch Lomond volunteers planned and developed these initiatives.

Monarch Waystation Plaque:
This site provides milkweeds, nectar sources, and shelter needed
to sustain monarch butterflies as they migrate through North America.

Certified and registered by Monarch Watch as an official Monarch Waystation.
