Banbury Park

In a Village of Mundelein Proclamation on June 25, 2012, the Mayor and the Village Board felt it appropriate that the site of the former water pumping station along the Banbury Road Bike Path where landscape improvements were installed should henceforth be known as Banbury Park. This proclamation also recognized the Loch Lomond Property Owners Association, and residents Barb, Jim, Mike, and Shayne Carroll; Fritz Chesek; Katie, Kelly, and Randy Cook; Kay Dickman; Arlene Doran; Kelly and Larry Happ; Kristine Hiegel; Delores O’Connell; Sally Pilcher; Jean and Gabby Potillo; Lee Rogers, and Tony Titus for their commitment to improving the appearance of the Mundelein community, their initiative in securing appropriate funding, their determination in enhancing the natural environment, and committing to good stewardship of our beautiful natural resource, Loch Lomond.

This park is an example of the Loch Lomond community's commitment to being good neighbors and good stewards of our lake. It has much traffic from residents walking, jogging or bicycling around the lake. A 'Good Neighbor Committee' of homeowner volunteers developed and maintains this well planted serene environment for residents to stop and “smell the roses” before continuing.
